Dragon, Chimera











The second set of animals in my zoo (see earlier post).

I was having a bit of trouble trying to make the chimera's body different from the griffin's since they're both based on a big cat build. So I took a break and while viewing impossibly cute videos of welsh corgis on youtube, a stroke of genius hit...
I cut the snake head tail off to make it appear even more like a corgi, and also i didnt feel like drawing another snake head since I'm already doing a naga concept.

For the dragon, I didnt want to make it look too menacing. I like how hippos and rhinos, bears and crocs can all look really peaceful and lazy but can also be very ferocious. And also I gave it chameleon eyes just to make it look even more docile and goofy.

Again, the images are posted in the order I drew them, so you can see how the designs evolved.

HA!, I love your goofy Dragon. I think it's a brilliant idea. Total departure from how everybody else draws dragons.

it feels like ur goat and lion are not happy with the fact that they're stuck in the same body, and they're going to fight for dominance lol. these are too good ed!
